Wow, that was fun! March flew by this year….it is just a blur of amazing fresh produce, delicious cheeses and sharing food with friends. It went so quickly, in fact, that I totally missed doing the Week 4 newsletter…sorry! I was too busy hosting my Tassievore party 🙂
Thank you all so much for taking part in the Challenge, we hope that it has been delicious and rewarding! There have been some fabulous stories and innovative ideas shared and we have loved hearing from you!
Some of our favourite local businesses donated prizes for us to give out over the course of the Challenge. We’ve been so busy that we’ve hardly managed to give them out, but here is a quick recap of the winners thus far:
Week 1 – Try Something New – Deb for her Tassie Salt for Cheesemaking. Deb will be recieving a Tassievore hamper including: Pagan Cider, Onya Bags, Kindred Quinoa, and a Tassie cookbook, amongst other treats.
Week 2 – Support Local Businesses – Nick and his team for developing an interactive map of local NW businesses. Nick will be receiving a hamper of yummy Tassie products, generously donated by Hill Street Grocer.
Week 3 – Tas fruit and Veg – Tanya of Suburban Jubilee for sharing the art of preserving with lots of Tassievores in a series of workshops in Launceston. And the wonderful use of Tassie produce in her own local feast.
Week 4 – Host a Tassievore meal – Barb for her glorious feast and photos.
Smolt spot prize – Tracey Hurd
And we still have the 2 free tickets to the Living Local Feast to award, so please share your finale photos and stories of your Tassievore journey with us!
We hope that you’ve had as much fun as we have! A huge thank you to all of the amazing volunteers who have helped to make this possible: Kym, Sandy, Bridgette, Sarah, Pen, Caitlin, Penelope, and Serena…you girls rock!
Until next time…may you continue to relish how lucky we are to live in this amazingly beautiful place with such high-quality food and lovely people!
